BEWARE rating on new jack stands!

I have a pair of those (Harbor Freight 38846).
As Dan wrote, the only place it mentions the "as a pair" is on the paper instructions inside the box.
Not a peep on the outside of the box, and each stand has a helpful sticker that only says "3 tons"

Just after i bought them, Harbor Freight had a recall on an older "3 ton" model ... since the bent-metal pawl engagement was bending/breaking under load. I had carefully checked that my model number wasn't part of the recall.

So the next time i go shopping for jackstands, i'll be looking for 6 ton.

thanks for the heads-up

p.s. since i always use secondary supports (another jack (or two) or jackstand or (if i must) a wheel lying sideways under there), i haven't come anywhere close to exceeding even the 1.5 ton usage (yet)
