Solvents generally are classified according to it’s their risk assessment to human health to three main classes:

Class 1: Solvents to be avoided which known as human carcinogens and environmental hazards.

Class 2: Solvents to be limited.

Class 3: Solvents with low toxic potential to man and no health – based exposure limit is needed.

Classification of printing inks

Solvent base inks: which have High odor, toxic, and most have some high VOC solvents as: CYC, CAC, PMA, DMF, DEDME, ISOP etc., which are cheap and prohibited.

Mild Solvent inks: which have Low smell, not include high VOC solvents as: CYC, CAC, PMA, DMF, DEDME, ISOP etc.

Eco Solvent Inks: which are Odorless, with 80% environment-friendly solvents.
