Swimming pool water treatment is divided into two parts: the physical process and the chemical process, which are indispensable in the swimming pool water treatment process.

The physical process is the pool water through the filtering effect of circulating water treatment equipment to purify the pool water. The chemical process refers to the pool water circulation while adding chemicals to disinfection, flocculation, algae removal and other treatments, and then through the role of the physical process to make the pool water clean and sanitary.

The turbidity of swimming pool water not only affects water quality but also easily causes safety accidents. Reduce the disinfection effect, directly affecting the sensory comfort of swimmers. It can be said that in the pool water treatment process, the core of the process is to purify water quality. At present, common applications in the pool water treatment industry in the filtration system, mainly based on quartz sand pressurized filtration and diatomaceous earth pressure filtration, as well as relatively small wall-mounted integrated filter and gravity filter.

Introduction of the four filtration methods

1. Introduction of quartz sand filtration process

Quartz sand filtration material is generally made of high quality carbon steel lined with rubber anti-corrosion stainless steel and reinforced glass fiber material, which is required to resist double corrosion of ozone and chloride ion, with a design pressure of 0.6 MPa. An automatic exhaust valve is provided at the top of the equipment for timely discharge of the air inhaled due to careless operation. A hole is provided in the middle or top of the tank for easy access and replacement or filling of the filter material. The quartz sand filter material should be 0.45-0.8mm refined quartz natural sea sand filter material, and the lower part of the cylinder should be equipped with pebbles (grain size 2mm-32mm) support layer. In order to achieve the purpose of deep filtration, the effective filter layer thickness should not be less than 700mm, and must be equipped with 4-5m water head.

2. Introduction of diatomaceous earth filtration process

Pressure diatomaceous earth filters can be divided into plate and frame type diatomaceous earth filters and candle type diatomaceous earth filters. The plate and frame type diatomaceous earth filter consists of multiple filter units, each filter unit consists of a filter plate, filter frame, and filter cloth, and the filter cloth is sandwiched between the plate frame as an adsorbent filter medium. The shape of the candle-type diatomaceous earth filter is similar to that of a vertical quartz sand filter press, and its interior consists of filter elements similar to the shape of a candle, hence the name candle-type diatomaceous earth filter. During filtration, a pre-coating of diatomaceous earth is first formed on the filter candle. As the material passes through the diatomaceous earth filter layer attached to the surface of the filter candle column, suspended and colloidal particles are intercepted for filtration purposes.

3. Introduction to wall-mounted integrated filtration process

Wall-mounted integrated filter generally adopts high-quality paper core filter cartridge or PP filter cartridge as the filter medium, with built-in circulating water pump, automatic dosing device, underwater light and other equipment. Its circulation method is inhalation circulation, which is inhaled from the suction port of the equipment body and discharged from the water supply port of the equipment body after filtration and purification treatment. Its service range is only a limited area around the equipment, the use of dead space and eddy current problems, non-mainstream filtration process, the market use rate is low, only for no room, a small amount of water, swimming pools with few people, such as: high-end villa outdoor pool, private club pools.

4. Gravity filter process introduction

Gravity filter is the best place for natural or man-made landscape water quality environment improvement, its aeration and oxygen activation of water bodies, sand bed filtration is conducive to the removal of organic pollutants in such water bodies and reduce turbidity, belongs to the environmental microbiology category of the water treatment process. Swimming and recreational water treatment belong to the medical microbiology of disinfection and sterilization of the medical disinfection process, there are essential differences between the two. Gravity filtration technology was also first used in natural or artificial landscape water treatment, the last decade, China's swimming pools and water parks and other similar recreational water treatment technology and equipment also appeared in the use of gravity filtration systems cases, but the overall market share is small.
