Ingredients

  • 9

Beets, raw, peeled and sliced 1/8-1/4 inch

Instructions

  • Place sliced beets on parchment-lined baking sheets. Or place beets on a cooling rack placed inside of a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  • Place baking sheets into a preheated 200°F oven for 4 hours or until beet slices are completely dried and are crisp when broken in half. Take care to make sure that the beets DO NOT BROWN.

  • Working in batches, pulverize dried beets in a spice grinder until they turn into a fine powder.

  • Store powder in an airtight jar in the refrigerator. Adding an oxygen absorber to the jar can be very helpful. The Beet Powder should stay fresh for about 6 months. To use Beet Powder, add 1 teaspoon to eight ounces of water and blend well. Add ice, if you wish, and enjoy.
