Liquid Wrap vs Vinyl Wrap

23 Oct.,2023

The automotive industry is constantly evolving with the latest technological advances, scientist developing the most intricate solutions and engineers architecting the most comprehensive designs. There is always something new/innovative that changes the dynamics of the market and brings something fresh.

One of the hottest trends that is not going to die out is wrapping cars, the main two options are to have it done in vinyl or a liquid wrap.

Liquid Wrap (PlastiDip)

PlastiDip is a relatively newer product than vinyl in the automotive scene, having gained traction for around 5-10 years now.

It has evolved considerably in this short amount of time, it is a rubberised protective coating which is applied by a spray gun or a spray can (smaller applications). Similar to a traditional spray job.

PlastiDip offers a protective solution in keeping your cars original paint in mint condition. It is a protective film for you car that desists UV rays and other harmful abrasions to protect the original paint.

With that being said, bird faeces, petroleum and car wash chemicals are not your friend if your vehicle has been liquid wrapped as these have a negative effect on liquid wraps, by staining and leaving a mark of discolouration.

All areas not to be sprayed must be masked off, including windows, lights, wheels and mouldings.

Having a professional applicator do the job for you is most important as there are a few intricate details which can heavily affect the quality outcome of the liquid wrap.

Liquid Wrap comes in various finishes, such as MATTE, GLOSS, SATIN and PEARL.
